Established in 1952 Bar Melody was a successful westside steak house through the early 90s. Melody took a turn in the mid nineties and became a dive bar until a year ago when it was taken over by Christian Warren and Bobby Hughes. Warren and Hughes have turned Melody around to a thriving neighborhood eatery bar and grill once again
Meet the Business Owner: Christian W.
Christian is a veteran restaurateur with a passion for good food. With more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Christian has a particular eye for fixing up restaurants and polishing them into successful, high-volume establishments.
One of Warren's greatest assets is his eye for ambiance and taste for food. Christian bought Melody in March 2008 and saw the need for quick renovations. It has since doubled in revenue. Previous to Melody, Warren was one of four owners of Ma'kai Lounge, a Polynesian tapas lounge in the exciting ocean-front area of Santa Monica. Located on Ocean Blvd. in the heart of Santa Monica, Ma'kai Lounge attracted thousands of tourists, locals and fun-loving customers a week. There, Christian managed the kitchen, administered food ordering, created the menu, and oversaw general operations.
